Polish Festival Unsound Bans Cameras: Crowd Turns Creative

unsound festival

What happens when you take away the filters, Facebook, side boobs, hot dog legs, micro blogging and all that comes with camera phones and social media at a festival? Judging by what went down at 7 day electronic festival Unsound, a myriad of creativity with fans capturing the moment via painting / sketching.

After a growing disdain for camera phones, digital camera and iPads being the centre of activity for attendees at previous years versions of the Kraków, Poland festival, the organisers took the bold decision to ban all recording devices. Punters who went to watch the likes of Pearson Sound, Anthony Naple, Pantha du Prince and others then took it upon themselves to sketch the moment in which can be seen below! Humble and refreshing to see a festival remove the narcissism that comes with the self indulgence of constant selfies and ‘i was there’ photography proof.

Unsound Festival is set to launch in Adelaide, Australia at the Adelaide Festival from February 28th 2014.
