Mr. Worldwide’s Australian tour has been cancelled :(

Common sense has prevailed and Pitbull’s Australian tour featuring the equally talented Ke$ha has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Pitbull, also known as ‘Mr. Worldwide’ took to Facebook to inform fans of this devastating news.

“Regrettably the promoter is cancelling the Australian tour, refunds will be available at point of purchase. We hope to return to Australia in the not too distant future.”

After listening to 5 seconds of Pitbull’s latest track ‘Timber’ which actually features Ke$ha it’s not difficult to see why sales have been so poor. What impresses me most is that the general public has enough nous to not shell out $80+ to see a show from talentless household names based on prior success.

The commercial American Urban/Hip-Hop/Rnb genre has been strong for so long now, yet 2013 has seen the cancellation of multiple Australian shows, festivals and tours. With EDM popularity at an all time high would it be safe to assume it’s the cause for the demise of the genres popularity down under?

Below is Pitbull’s edit of Baauer’s track ‘Harlem Shake’ Sorry about that…..
