Moderat’s ‘Gita’ supports the UNICEF #ENDviolence Against Children Initiative

The evocative ‘Gita’ from Moderat‘s latest album ‘II‘ is now the official track to compliment a coordinated project between UNICEF and the Monkeytown / Mute record labels, putting a spotlight on the ground-breaking #ENDviolence against children initiative. Directed by Juan Carlos Maneglia and Tana Schembori, the video focuses on breaking the cycle of abuse by telling a story of domestic violence through the eyes of a child expecting it in his own home, to help the overall global movement of raising awareness and sparking local action to combat violence against children – making ‘the invisible, visible’.

Here’s what they said about it:

UNICEF asked us if they could use ‘Gita’ for a video for their campaign against domestic violence. Working together with UNICEF means being part of something for the greater good. We are very happy to be involved and hope that we can help to make a change.

A perfect song choice in my eyes; you can check out the video below. Yet another reason to love the Moderat trio.
