Melodic Electronicist Jon Hopkins writes Timeless Soundtrack for new movie

Around about the same time as releasing his excellent ‘Immunity‘ album earlier this year, Jon Hopkins was finishing off the Soundtrack to Kevin Macdonald’s new film ‘How I Live Now’. With the film featuring Saoirse Ronan, the movie has just recently been premiered in UK cinemas with Hopkins’ second film score showcasing 16 tunes of melancholic beauty – something he’s no stranger to.

While most of the tunes are originals with titles like ‘The Hawk’, ‘The River’ and ‘The Field’, Hopkins has also included his remix of Daughter‘s ‘Home’ on the soundtrack – all of which could mean ‘How I Live Now’ is added to our best of ‘Stoney Soundtracks and Scores’.

Jon will also be heading to Australia in December for a slot at Meredith Music Festival and a string of sideshows. Dates below.

Jon Hopkins Australian Tour Dates
Saturday 7th December – The Bakery – Perth
Thursday 12th December – The HiFi – Melbourne
Saturday 14th December – Oxford Art Factory – Sydney
Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre

Listen to some excerpts of the soundtrack below and click ‘buy’ to grab it from iTunes if you’re feeling it – while you won’t play this as a motivational pump-up mixtape before an event, it’ll certainly help your head settle down the next morning.
