Disclosure Video Pulled Over Druggy Connotations

The video for hit ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’ featuring indie vocalist London Grammar from smash duo Disclosure has been swiftly pulled from the interwebs over the accusation of drug glamorisation.

In a aesthetically alluring fictional expose of London’s Youth nightlife – the video follows a young crew as they have a ‘Skins’-style trip (in both senses of the word) in a trademark red double decker bus.

The final track on the debut album smash ‘Settle’, the video was pulled by label PMR in response to some prude-y comment responses to the video.

In a press release regarding the awkward re-negging of the video, PMR stated;

“The video for Disclosure’s new single was revealed this morning and as with previous Disclosure videos, it was about the connection of people having a good time, something that Disclosure want associated with their music and what we hope people have done when they’ve seen the band live or while listening to their music. Unfortunately the video has received a few comments referencing the use of drugs within the video.

“PMR feel very strongly against the glamorisation of drugs in any capacity and as such we have made the decision to remove the video.”

Despite the ‘Parental Advisory’ disclaimer attached to the video, fears are that London youths will still take the video the wrong way, despite the fact that drug use could be easy business amongst the poms with new drug law reforms.

In a recent interview with Stoney Roads, half of the duo Howard Lawrence was eager to distance himself from the allegations that dance music and drug consumption are totally synonymous;

“We’re not for it or against it really, we don’t find it an important part of what we do we just make the music.”

It appears that PMR fear that the relationship between Disclosure’s tunes and drug consumption are officially a touchy subject. Our personal thoughts? Disenfranchised youths are as disenfranchised youths do, if the potential influence of an individual is conceived from a representation, where does it leave free speech when representations are withdrawn?

Now the video’s disappeared into the abyss, we guess we’ll never know…

Deep shit, yo.
