Tkay Maidza is a name you’re about to hear a lot more. The 17 year old Zimbabwe born Adelaide resident is fresh out the gate but she is already hitting her stride recently signing to Select Music earlier in the month.

Manager 5/4 entertainment’s Craig Lock has been “been working with Tkay for several months now and I’m constantly being blown away by what she can do, not only as a rapper but as a singer and songwriter as well.”

Collaborating with fellow locally based producer Bad Cop they caught a lot of attention with the track ‘Handle My Ego’ going online last year. The pair hit the Triple J Unearthed stage at the Big Sound showcase this month off the bat of their latest effort the jurassic dancehall jam “Brontosaurus”

You can catch Maidza supporting Disclosure when they sweep through the city of churches in October.
