‘The Wire’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ star owns in new MGMT video

Are blasé candy drug labs, quietly bleeding cacti and being washed by sexy black men your thang? Then MGMT’s new video just might be fore you.

Featuring Michael K. Williams (potentially better known as Omar from ‘The Wire’ or Chalky White from ‘Boardwalk Empire’), the video is…pretty cray. Brain child of director Isiah Secret and filmed by Bradford Young, the video, supporting track ‘Cool Song No. 2′ tells a narrative of Williams’ character turning genetically modified plants into happy pills, with not-so-happy effects.

Although we’re not sure how the video directly correlates to the song itself, it’s aesthetic treats certainly compliments the weird and wonderful musical trajectory of the track. It definitely marks the turns and experiments MGMT are making with their second album, and sets some headway for the duo’s recently announced North America tour coming up.

Notable mention to the almost-sexy double shirtless baptism by Williams’,  if only we could look past the whole ‘dying from tree-man infection’ thing.
