OutsideIn Festival Proves To Be An Ego Free Day Of Music Discovery

After causing a successful stir in its first year, OutsideIn music festival returned with a vengeance! Armed with a niche electronic line up and a sell out crowd, the sophomore edition proved to be ultimately special as over a thousand lucky punters converged on an awesome day in the sun, main stage or in the bass cave (depending on your mood).

With an eclectic spread of cats over a 10 hour time period, it was hard not to walk to one of the three stages and discover an act you hadn’t previously heard and fall in love with. In a way the progression of the day served out like a " target="_blank">child opening presents on christmas day, simply full of surprises.

A snapshot of stand out acts included a drum n bass cave rave with Mark Pritchard, an Adelaide techno fraternity appearance from Babicka (head honcho of Untzz 12 inch), UK outfit Snakehips rammed the main stage, a slow dubby jam with Willow Beats and plenty more.

Festival director Vichara Edirisinghe summed the mood up of the festival in saying

“If you don’t build a festival around headliners and things go a little wrong, like the sub blowing up on one of the stages, the punters don’t really mind because it’s more so about the vibe of going to other stages and having some fun and the no ego attitude.”

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Here is to the many more OutsideIn Festivals to come!
