Jeff Mills — The Jungle Planet [Axis]

The Detroit techno veteran and Axis Records boss has just released his long-awaited second LP for 2013, available in the form of a black USB cube.

Jeff Mills announced ‘The Jungle Planet’ back in July after the release of ‘Where Light Ends’, a collaboration with Japanese astronaut Mamoru Mohri, and  is the next instalment in Mills’ ‘Sleeper Wakes’ science fiction story dating back to 2005 about the “last surviving human”, according to the label. As is often the case with the techno king, the presentation of the album has a unique element; in addition to a standard double 12″ gatefold vinyl version, the record will also be released as a “black USB cube” with 12 wav.’s – very Jeff.

Anyone familiar with him (hopefully everyone) should jump on this – the USB’s are limited to 500 individually numbered versions and the vinyl is sure to sell out quick. Take a listen below via the Boomkat player.
