Gui Boratto‘s ‘The K2 Chapter’ collects all eight sides from the Brazilian tech-house don’s four singles for Kompakt Digital‘s sub-label K2, which ran from 2005 to 2008 to be a platform for dancefloor friendly 12″s. Ultimately becoming Boratto’s starting point in the scene, years on, the 8 tracks sound just as infectious and visionary as they did back then.

They’re subtle, kinky, rolling grooves mixed innately with crisp, Euro-style electronics, highlighted in the tightly funked-up ‘Noronha’, in the darker-tinted bass grapple and pirouetting melodies of ‘Haute Couture’, and the emotive trance roller ‘Anunciación’.
