Aussie To Take Charge Of Aoki’s Label Dim Mak

Steve Aoki has just announced that Aussie DJ/producer and former head of Vicious Recordings Lorne Padman will be taking over as the new vice president/label manager of Dim Mak Records. The new appointment means a move to LA for the formerly Melbourne based record exec, who was responsible for developing some of Australia’s biggest dance acts.

Padman can now turn his attention to working with some of the world’s biggest dance superstars, with Dim Mak boasting an impressive line up that includes Azari & III, Anger Dimmas, The Bloody Beetroots, Clockwork, Dada Life, Zedd and the head man Steve Aoki. He’ll have the opportunity to keep pushing Australian talent such as Wax Motif (who we were lucky enough to chat to last week) and Yolanda Be Cool, who are also signed to the label.

Lorne stated:

“It’s an overwhelming honour to be handpicked by Steve Aoki to run one of the world’s leading music brands and to apply the invaluable lessons of Vicious Recordings from within a vibrant, exploding US dance market. I’m looking forward to the amazing opportunity of building on Dim Mak’s rocking reputation with the development of tomorrow’s superstar artists.”

We’re stoked to see an Aussie at the helm of one of the world’s biggest dance labels, so best of luck buddy!
