Sony Launch Premium Dance Music Label; BASIK rkrds

Sony Music have launched a new electronic music imprint BASIK rkrds that’ll be headed by Sony’s latest recruit Jon Hanlon, who as well as earning the title of Director of Electronic Music runs the Melbourne based Konkrete Agency who represent a plethora of talent such as Peking Duk and Nicky Romero in Australia.

The label, BASIK rkrds itself looks to pull together the best talent from across the globe, mixed with exciting up and coming producers of the Australian scene to take our unique perspective on dance music to the world stage.

Taking inspiration from the best in the business, BASIK rkrds mission is to take it back to basics and make it all about quality music that constantly pushes the limits of the popular standing big-room sound as well as develop future trends locally and globally.

The first track set to be released on the label will be by the Melbourne based producer Samual James and his single “Mega” that combines melodic stabs and mind numbing drops that unquestionably measures itself against some of the best in dance music

Already receiving an abundance of local and international support, the track (which we are set to premiere shortly) title speaks for itself as the be all and end all of electrifying dance music with Hardwell already adding it to heavy rotation in his sets.

We look forward to seeing the successful develop of BASIK rkrds in Australia and abroad, be sure to like/follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud.
