RUFUS Top Aria Chart With Debut ‘Atlas’

Following an iTunes number one, Australian indie-dance band Rufus have topped the ARIA charts with their debut offering ‘Atlas’ beating out Pink, Dead Letter Circus and more to cement their place as the next big thing.

Remarkably the last time two Australians album debut’d at first and second in the charts was The Presets ‘Apocalypso’ and Cog’s ‘Sharing Space’ earning the gold and silver spots back in 2008.

This year marks a breakout for the band who call the late great Ajax’s Sweat It Out label home and positively one of our favourite groups of 2013. The guys also find themselves playing a number of festivals including Falls Festival (Marion Bay, Lorne, Byron Bay), WA’s Southbound, Big Day Out and the Listen Out parties alongside AlunaGeorge, Disclosure, Classixx and more.

RUFUS bring about a new era of indie-dance following in the footsteps of innovators Van She, Midnight Juggernauts and Cut Copy with their cleanly cut productions and on-stage energy.

Check out the snaps from our Splendour in the Grass pre-pre party ‘Poolside’ at Studio 301 where the boys DJ’d a night to remember!
