Tight Knit Records are proud to announce their inaugural label release from London-based DJ and producer, Charlie Potter aka Morcee. Featuring Funkystepz-affiliated guest vocalist Lily McKenzie, Black Hole is rhythmic yet stripped-down, showcasing his desire to shy away from traditional patterns and structures. ‘Control’ kicks off with arpeggiated synths that slowly open out over a frenetic beat, once again proving the ‘less is more’ production style carries through every stage of his creative process.

Morcee was sold by the DIY mentality and direct attitude of early jungle through to the white label grime scene. However, being too young to go to events and experience it first-hand for himself this era became his very own ‘summer of love’, having to settle on glimpses of the past through low quality radio rips and tape packs.
Outside of DJing and producing he’s working collaboratively on Tight Knit Records. The focus is as much on the design and detail as it is on the music and this also resonates with his aspirations as a producer, to make something people want to hold onto – a rarity in a time of such instant disposability.
