A dark cloud has cast its shadow over the Dance Music community following the weekend, with rumours being confirmed of a young man passing away from a suspected overdose in the crowd at HARD Summer Festival. LA based producer Flying Lotus recounts the events that unfolded just prior to his set, tweeting –
Damn. I saw a guy die before I played my set. Heavy.

Paramedics confirmed that the young man went into cardiac arrest, found “unresponsive, pulseless and non-breathing” at the venue.
A spokesperson for the festival stated “Our guest’s safety and well being is of paramount importance at every Live Nation event. We have skilled EMT’s, police, and security staff deployed on site to respond to any emergency situation and last night members of this emergency team were with this patron and administering CPR within two minutes of notification.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the young man’s family, as this unfortunately acts as a tragic reminder to all of us to be careful and take care of your mates.
We’ve followed up Flying Lotus for additional comments.
HARD Summer Festival attracted roughly 70 000 electronic dance music enthusiasts, this year boasting big names such as Tommy Trash, Disclosure, Julio Bashmore and TNGHT.
