Flo Rida Rides Out a Sticky Sitch Again

The sneaky mofo formerly known as Flo Rida has flo-ed right out of a nasty damages fine due to the prosecutor’s attempt at gangsta legalities.

Flo Rida dissapointed 11,000 fans at Newcastle’s Fat-As-Butter festival, pulling a no-show minutes before his stage time, forcing organisers to tell festival goers ‘Flo Rida has slept in and will not be able to make the concert’.

Organisers of the event, Mothership Management sued Flo Rida (real name Tramar Dillard) and management VIP Entertainment and Concepts for damages of $40,000 due to lost revenue and reputation.

Upon finding it a little tricky to track down the rapper to serve summons and other documents, prosecutors attempted to get the rappers attention via his Facebook wall. We assume it went something like this;

‘Cort 2day homez, considr urself $erved… !!!’

Unsurprisingly, the attempt to serve the rapper over the inter webs didn’t stand up in court.

When discussing his judgement, Justice Robert McFarland stated, ‘Personal service on the defendant is the primary means of service under the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules’.

Legal jargon aside, a summons that wasn’t delivered personally was deemed unreasonable by the courts. Unfortunately for the organisers of Fat-As-Butter, there has since been cases in which Facebook has been an acceptable way to serve. Perhaps McFarland just had a thing for apple-bottom-jeans, who’s to know.

As a result all charges against Rida were dropped. Word has it he’ll be spending the money he saved on grillz and hits on Diplo.
