The Field Announces New Album ‘Cupid’s Head’

The Field

The Field has announced a new album for the year – ‘Cupid’s Head’

September 30th The Field will release ‘Cupid’s Head’ an album created entirely the hard way, all analog, no computers and his first solo work since his debut ‘From Here We Go Sublime’.

The album is set to explore a darker and slower pace than what we’ve come to expect from The Field but will undoubtably be a welcome sign among recent electronica releases.

“When I started to work on “Cupid’s Head“ it was quite awkward. I felt that I had nothing to put into a new album and I´m not the type to sit down and force something out in the studio…./…But then, after a few modest attempts, I got a first loop together and running which turned out (in a short time) to be “No.No…“. It was a revelation of sorts as making it felt new to me, and different, and that’s when it all came out.” -Axel Willner

Influences have been drawn from Axel’s various side projects be it Loops Of Your Heart or Black Fog, each adding, filling or amplifying the eventual ‘fieldish’ product.

” ‘Cupid’s Head’ is about visions of the future, tiny actions and their consequences, about sentimentality and most certainly…about life.”

An album we can’t wait to hear… September 30th on Kompakt.
