Duke Dumont Talks About New Album Ideas And Collaborators

With a busy tour schedule flying Duke Dumont across Europe and ending in Australia in early October (Listen Out), the real named Adam Dyment has given us his early thoughts on what is to come for his forthcoming album he has just started working on.

The UK based producer who features on MOS: Deep House Sessions spoke to us over the phone about his passion to work with the “best vocalists, not necessarily the biggest vocalists”. He also toyed us with the idea that he may explore “work with one vocalist throughout the entire record” in the same fashion as SBTRKT did with Sampha.

On the thought of the Australian dance music scene, Dumont said the emphasis shouldn’t be on where you’re from. ‘Australia has some very talented artists, just look at artists like Flume, and I don’t listen to Flume and go ‘that’s Australian’ I listen to Flume and go ‘that’s a really good producer’.

So overall what can we expect from the new album. The man summed it up pretty well in a sentence:
“a nicer surprise when people just hear the songs as opposed to hearing about it for 6 months to a year in advance”
