Club Fined Over 600 Litres of Fake Vodka In The UK

English clubbing brand Gatecrasher have been fined £5,000 and ordered to pay £2,095.67 in costs for selling fake vodka in a Leeds club as reported by UK blog Harder Blogger Faster.

Authorities investigated following a complaint made last year regarding the venue selling customers counterfeit vodka. As a result officers seized 656 Litres of fake spirits that were labelled as “Premium Vodka”, found to contain alcohol substitutes such as isopropanol (used in the making of acetone), tertiary butanol and chloroform.

The court case was adjourned until September 2013, where further investigations found that the “drink” was obtained through a broker as a “cash deal” arranged through the head office of Gatecrasher Clubs and Bars Ltd.

The club has been closed down for now and rightly so. How any venue owner can have such disregard for their patrons safety is beyond us.
