Bullet Train – Bullet Train Allstars 2 [Compilation]

via Bullet Train

London-based record label Bullet Train celebrates its 5th Birthday with a free release on Soundcloud of Volume II of their famed Allstars compilation series; a showcase of sounds from label boss Marco del Horno, alongside some of his latest signings; Cause & Affect (Dirtybird), Lorenzo (Hannah Wants), Taiki & Nulight, garage legend Ed Case, Last Japan’s latest project N55 and many more new faces. Producer, DJ and Rinse FM host, with releases on Black Butter, Southern Fried and Buygore, Marco del Horno launched Bullet Train in 2008. Providing a much-needed platform for new talent, it was forged on the ideal that within an ever-changing musical landscape, the label would always strive to be on the front foot; breaking and pushing sounds, rather than simply following the latest trends.

“Right from the start, I never wanted to sign records that sounded like they were made ten to fifteen years ago. We all know that dance music is cyclical, but what’s important is that when something comes back round again, we’re building on that sound and pushing it forward, not just re-hashing old records” affirms Marco. “We’re proud to provide a breeding ground for new talent; nothing makes me happier than to see these artists develop their craft, build a fan-base and make the big step into a major label set-up – that’s what we’re all about.“

Firmly focused on the future, Marco now welcomes a whole new batch of exciting talent to the Bullet Train stable, all of whom feature on Allstars Vol II. First up are Cause & Affect – now also releasing on Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird label, this Midlands duo are being heralded as the face of the new, emerging bass / house hybrid sound. Also look out for tracks from Radio 1 favourites Taiki & Nulight who have just released a collaboration with AC Slater (Party Like Us / Trouble & Bass), Last Japan’s new collaborative outfit N55 and an exclusive VIP mix from the man himself, Marco del Horno. Other cuts come from the massively talented, but as yet, still relatively unknown artists Linden Jay, Crown Duels, Conducta and Two Fold, alongside something special from Garage legend Ed Case. The result is an album that can only be described as good, UK underground music. It’s essentially dance music with bags of soul and energy, but most importantly with 2013 sonics, ensuring Bullet Train remains at the forefront of the scene for the next five years and beyond.
