UK Techno Producer Dave Twomey Loses Fight With Cancer, RIP

UK techno producer and DJ Dave Twomney has lost his three-year battle with cancer, and passed away at age 33.

Via a personal blog, he’d been keeping friends, family and followers updated on his treatment in Vietnam after being diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer in February 2010. After starting his DJ career in Bristol, Twomey spent eight years living in Japan, where he was a regular DJ at a number of Tokyo clubs including Yellow, Air and Womb.

In 2009 he launched an event series called Mariana, which has included the likes of Peter Van Hoesen, Ben Klock and Mike Parker among its guests.

In May this year he launched the Mariana Wax label with a various artists EP that featured one his own tracks produced under the name Tr nch. He also appeared on Van Hoesen’s Time To Express label in 2011 with “Barreleye,” a track produced in collaboration with IORI.

Our thoughts are with Dave’s family and friends at this time. He will be missed.
