Avicii’s latest country inspired single “Wake Me Up” has hit #1 in the UK charts.
Although we’ve recently been rabbiting on about how great the UK’s taste is in dance music with notable chart entries from both Disclosure and Duke Dumont, it’s all come unravelled with Avicii’s latest single “Wake Me Up” hitting the number one spot on the charts only hours after its release.
Pushing aside last weeks chart topper “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke the first single from Avicii’s #True release, a track that features vocals from Aloe Blacc, moved into the top spot on the UK iTunes alone in just 45 minutes.
Wow!! Just 2 hours after release and Wake Me Up is already number 1 in the UK!!! Unbelievable! #TRUE @AshPunani @aloeblacc @MichaelEinziger

Although a few heads are still being scratched over his absurd Ultra Europe performance that saw bango’s, kazoo’s and members of Incubus performing alongside the Swede it doesn’t seem to have deterred fans from buying up the release.
Already dance heads are worried of another “Levels” epidemic with the catchy and different folk inspired single.
