Widely used time code program and DJ software Serato has hit the app store with their new controller for iPad entitled simply ‘Serato Remote’.
Sporting an easy-to-use format, the Serato app looks perfectly geared for their audience with features including.
– Quick draw loops
– Simple added FX
– A constant running sync function steal the show for your typical laptop Dj.
– 10 seemingly high responsive triggers providing Serato users to load their air horns and ‘damn son’ samples.
The real app we are waiting for is the stand-alone system. Serato’s new software toy is simply a remote functioning similar to a controller. With a $20 price tag, the Serato remote is considerably cheaper than buying a physical controller (assuming you already have an iPad). Appearing as a simplified version of the laptop interface, this looks like a shortcut for those not willing to map a controller. I guess we can kiss goodbye the physical controller era and say hello to iPad and app era!
