Nick Höppner doesn’t release much music, mostly because of his incredibly busy schedule as Bergain’s Ostgut Ton label manager. But when he does venture a release, it’s likely for that oft-cited reason that “no one else was making what I wanted to hear.” True to form, all three tracks on Red Hook Soil have a subtle uniqueness to them, and share the same DNA as Höppner’s previous efforts. Check all three tracks out below; although they’re not banging techno like a lot of stuff at the moment, it’s the sort of low-key groove that keeps floors bubbling at 9 am.
