Helmet Chic: Daft Punk Goes Vogue

Proving that helmets are all the rage, the unmasked duo continue their global takeover with a collaboration with Vogue US.

After causing a stir whilst flaunting their suit-clad mystery frames in midtown New York a few weeks back, the photos of the pair have been revealed, and we must say, they are looking slick as fuck. Staring alongside supermodel Karlie Kloss in an urban-meets-alien spread, the two don their shiny garb to match the, lets say, ‘experimental’ styling’s of top designers.

The cover shoot of the August edition, although quirky, doesn’t really resonate with ‘Random Access Memories’. As opposed to matching the upbeat nature and catchy-tune undertone of the album, the shoot plays with sequins, furs and the ever-classic vacant supermodel leer amongst the cool-industrial backdrop of Forty-Second Street (minus cigarette butts and its usual colourful hobo residents).

But whatever you think of the shoot, it’s pretty clear that DP are dominating the scene all over. With all eyes on them ahead of the release of their new single, it ain’t bad to be looking stylish. They certainly lay the age old argument to rest, proving that metallic is totally and perpetually chic.
