Deadmau5 Continues Commercial EDM mockery with ‘DROP DA BOMB’ Mix

Deadmau5-Pictures

Following a set of heated viral confrontations over the past few months with Afrojack; Deadmau5 has decided it is time to retaliate, releasing a rather unusual mix titled ‘DROP DA BOMB’.

The 46-second mix – which sounds very similar to some of the top 100 songs on Beatport– is a huge step away from the classic Deadmau5 sound, and  is Zimmerman’s  less-than-subtle way of having a stab at the overused and repetitive sound of commercial dance music. So for you die-hard Mau5 fans thinking this track is legit, don’t go and kick-up a stink, it is simply ‘dance music’ humour.

Despite the hilarity of this rather short mix, it comes a week after the release of Afrojack got heads turning with the release of the track ‘Something_’, which is quite clearly a direct attack upon Deadmau5’s musical style. Nothing quite like a dance music war is there?

Check out Deadmau5 ‘DROP DA BOMB’ below and see what you think.

Funny? Insulting? Make of it what you will, for now have a listen to Afrojack’s “Something_”. More music to boggle your mind with!
