Cromie & Sage Caswell – Vines / Pyrex [Peach]

Heat-seeking blend of proggy Balearic house, UK bass and rolling Detroit techno from newcomers Cromie & Sage Caswell, including deeper Kyle Hall remix and bleeping Ghosts on Tape version.  The fresh duo’s ‘Vines’ shakes down bouncing, hydraulic bass and swirling keys with teasing, uplifting arrangement for the ‘floor, and ‘Pyrex’ goes a shade harder with Joe-style percussive cadence shot through with the kind of burning house vibes of a Midland or George Fitzgerald groove. Kyle Hall takes the ‘Vines’ vibe deeper with measured, Carl Craig-esque synthline modulations and DJ Qu-like latin-tech shuffle, whereas Ghist On Tape take ‘Pyrex’ to the rave with results reminding of that One Eyed Jacks sound.

Only vinyl for now, digital August 6.
