Big Day Out 2014 Promise ‘Biggest and Best Lineup Yet’

Big Day Out has released official dates for the 2014 national festival.

In what is being promised as the ‘biggest and bet yet’ we’ve got our fingers and toes crossed for a heavy dance presence in the famed Boiler Room portion of the event.

New Zealand promoter Campbell Smith has gone on the record as saying the 2014 edition “crosses all the musical genres that you’d expect at the Big Day Out. When you look at the headliners, the second slot, third slot and fourth slot are probably all festival headliners.”

We’ve already heard strong rumours of one act set to appear who have toured Australia recently but haven’t played a festival of such, but for now we keep out lips sealed.

Absurd suggestions of Daft Punk should be pushed aside and anyone pushing the idea that the duo would play are laughable.

Previous years have fielded electro giants Justice, Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.

Big Day Out 2014 dates:
Auckland: Friday, January 17- Western Springs
Gold Coast: Sunday, January 19 – Metricon Stadium
Melbourne: Friday, January 24 – Venue TBC
Sydney: Sunday, January 26-27 – Venue TBC
Adelaide: Friday, January 31 – Venue TBC
Perth: Sunday, February 2 – Venue TBC
