Stoney Roads Goes to Wee Waa – Daft Punk album Launch Video

On Friday the 17th of May, a handful of the Stoney Roads team rolled up their sleeping bags and put on their camping hats for what would soon be remembered as one of the most spectacular nights in music history. Well, that’s what we remember of it anyway.

The official launch of Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ saw the most eclectic congregation of musical madness in probably the most obscure location on planet Earth. The bare landscape of Wee Waa was riddled with die-hard Daft fans, oodles of TV and radio reporters and clutters of buses that lined the perimeter of the Wee Waa show-ground, each containing a multitude of excited and determined Daft Punk enthusiasts.

Now we all know Daft Punk didn’t actually show up (and recently unmasked) – and every heart in that small country town broke a little when that was revealed – but everyone still managed to have the most amazing experience, supported – of course – by one of the most inspiring albums from this legendary dance music duo, being played (officially) for the first time. EVER.

Whether it was the local folk, the copious amount of attractive people or the journey itself, we spoke, enjoyed and captured it all.

I’ll finish off my spiel now, because below is the official Stoney Roads coverage video from this incredible weekend, with support from the legends at Contiki Toursbe sure to like them on Facebook.

Check it out, share it, like it and simply, enjoy it! ‘Random Access Memories’ is out now on iTunes.
