Iconic DJ and Producer Peter Rauhofer passes away

Internationally known producer and label owner Peter Rauhofer has passed away at age 48.

The Austrian native who went under the monikers Club 69 as well as Size Queen died of complications related to brain cancer, reported his manager via Facebook today.

Rauhofer’s career highlight would have to be when he won the Grammy Award in 1999 for ‘best remixer of the Year’ for his remix of Cher’s track ‘Believe’ (under club 69). His discography also includes many remixes for the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Janet Jackson and his legacy lives on through his tribal house record label Star 69.

“It makes me sad, not only that I have lost a friend, but that the world has lost an amazing talent and that future generations will never get to understand the magic that Peter created night after night all over the world,” Russo wrote. He added, “I ask that his true fans keep his legacy alive by sharing his music with anyone who may not have had the opportunity to experience it for themselves.”
