Tomorrowland is NOT coming to Australia in 2014

Keen Facebookers will have noticed a viral Facebook page toting that global festival Tomorrowland will be heading to Australia in 2014.

Although the idea of Tomorrowland heading downunder could be something special and was slightly hinted earlier this year, we’ll be the first to say it… it’s a fake.

A quick browse of the page itself shows nothing out of ordinary aside from the fact it was created yesterday – banner (doesn’t match official pages), some words about Tomorrowland and the hook “Stay tuned for tour dates, locations & the lineup” to get you to like the page and keep coming back.

First up and possibly the most obvious is the name being a little off… ‘Tomorrowland Australian TOUR 2014’ I mean c’mon, is it  really a tour? Does CAPLOCKS make it more official? Who’s little brother thought that up?

There’s nothing on the official Tomorrowland or TomorrowWorld page indicating this is the real deal or any reason for this to be announced nor any press materials to suggest so.

The funny business starts with the page asking fans to share updates to win double passes to an event sans location or any announced artists although the admin further dupes people into liking and sharing to ‘want’ particular artists on the bill including Skrillex, Knife Party and Daft Punk (chee).

Moving forward with the ridiculous amounts of fake pages (mostly Daft Punk) surfacing check before you like it or encourage friends to like it. It only takes seconds to scroll and check when the page was created or see if there is any legitimacy to it!

For the time being check out the epic official after-movie from 2012.
