I’ve been following Begin for some time now, as his effortless releases are a euphoric trip down Balarea Lane. But the details on who exactly this Begin character is did not come to my attention until now. And he’s got some serious chops:

Begin is the new recording alias of Back II Basics & Bugged Out resident, Chemical Brothers tour DJ, apprentice fishmonger, and officially funniest man in Europe without his own stand-up DVD to sell, James Holroyd. James’ Begin project has just released his first EP, the sublime Optical Holiday EP on his own label. Here he applies that subtle, euphoric Begin sound to the mix, which is destined to be the soundtrack to all your sunsets this summer.
