Man banned from driving for being intoxicated by Drum and Bass

A man in the UK has been banned from driving for 12 months due to the intoxicating nature of drum and bass music.

Aaron Cogley, 25 was pulled over by police after running his Ford van through two sets of traffic lights before slowing and then accelerating through a corner and almost hitting a pedestrian.

Police pulled him over where he blew a zero alcohol reading and was not found to be under the influence of drugs but was then charged with reckless driving and sent to court.

The prosecution told Bristol Crown Court: “When asked about it he said he was listening to drum and bass and was in a hurry.”

Cogley’s defence lawyer replied that the defendant was “was carried away because of the intoxicating effects of drum and bass music”.

“Intoxicating for some. Very irritating for others,” said Kevin De Haan QC, in summing up the case.
