James Zabiela – Jet Lagged In The Bat Cave (Live Mix)

Known for his hyper, scratchilific breakbeat turntablism, JZ is also a master of dark, dubby acid house. His recent productions like The Healing have exhibited a smoldering, emotive style, full of piano and guitar sounds, heavy baritone vocals (using his own voice in some instances). Straight from the Bat Cave, this live mix covers the full spectrum, starting off light and airy, picking up speed with energetic basslines, and quickly accelerating into full blown acid techno. Then by the end, he winds the mood down again into a beautifully wistful melody, complete with rain drops.

This wouldn’t be one of Zab’s mixes without some awesome audio clips, especially this one (I have no idea where it comes from but it’s pretty hilarious): “Oh, you had to be a bad boy didn’t you? How delicious to be naughty, and then get spanked. So you’ll die happily for your sins, you’d rather die with guilt, than live in love. Come on Ralph, come on….remember the prayer: you are the buddha.”

Thanks Batman 🙂
