International Music Summit Set For Los Angeles Debut With IMS Engage

The Pete Tong-run  International Music Summit, traditionally held in Ibiza, has extended its program to North America with the debut series in Los Angeles set for Wednesday, April 17th at the W Hotel. The hotel, located in the heart of Hollywood and a central figure in Los Angeles’ dance music scene, will play host to some of the biggest names in dance music and beyond. The festivities include an array of panel discussions regarding the state of dance music and live performances by esteemed acts like Foxes (on Tuesday) and Soul Clap (Wednesday).

Some of the many renowned names gathering in between Coachella weekends for the “TED of music conferences” include Diplo, Skrillex, and Russell Simmons. Additionally, key figures at companies like Pioneer (an event sponsor), Beatport, SFX Entertainment, and SONY will also feature on the panels.  One of the more exciting sessions on tap promises to be Diplo and Instagram Co-Founder Kevin Systrom’s ‘In Conversation,’ which should be a lively discussion focusing on Diplo’s mastery of social media and how Apps like Instagram have changed the EDM game.

Here are the other panel pairings:

  • Lady Gaga’s manager Troy Carter and Swedish House Mafia Manager, Amy Thomson
  • Russell Simmons with Sony’s President of Electronic Music, Patrick Moxey
  • Skrillex and The Summit Series founder Jeff Rosenthal
  • Pete Tong and Shelly Finkel from SFX Entertainment
  • Digital pioneer Jaron Lanier with Beatport CEO Matthew Adell

The coup de gras is the official poolside after party at Drais hosted by IMS & The Windish Agency with a yet-to-be-revealed lineup. Judging by the speakers and industry players on hand, it will certainly not disappoint.

You can purchase your Delegate Badge right here and get the full scoop over at IMS’ official website. The event promises to be a who’s who in the music industry
