GRUM – Everytime

After almost a year without any activity, GRUM is BACK! And the first single from his forthcoming album is a deep one. The people have been clamoring for new material from the Scot* for quite some time, and some of these people are not happy. His latest original, premiered by that Annie Mac chick, is a shift to the deeper variant–which has in turn elicited some fan blowback on SoundCloud. Which is silly, because it’s pretty good–it’s just different and emblematic of an artist expanding his sound and experimenting with a different genre he may indeed be smitten with. And music fans cannot blame him for this. Plus, it’s only a preview, which means there’s plenty of time for a synth-drive.

It’ll be interesting to see what style GRUM adapts on the rest of the album. In the mean time, and fortunately for the haters, his latest remix is more traditional, vintage GRUM: space-aged disco at its finest with a splash of pop.

*A previous version of this post listed GRUM as a “New Zealander.” The author of this post was faded. Apologies GRUM.
