Eats Everything and Baauer provide new experience at The Ivy

Sydney and NSW were treated to a wide selection of national and international acts as well as festivals this weekend including Dada Life, Harvard Bass, Groovin The Moo,  Motez, Eats Everything and Baauer, so it was hard pickings for any dance music fan!

Dirtybird records very own Eats Everything at the Chinese Laundry Courtyard party was special because not only was it Eat’s first ever trip to play down in Aus but the unusual musical format for the day provided a unique experience which broke the mould of how a typical party’s music would roll out.

With trap maestro Baauer being added as a late addition to the Eats Everything party, (after selling out his Friday night Laundry show in record time) his early play time of 2pm set the tone at party mode early on. Having the second headliner set so early on was nice for many reason. The most noticeable was you could sense everyone that was there was genuinely in high spirits and just having a great boogie without the alcohol fuelled edge, so it was a nice touch to the start of the day.

The progression of the music from the local support act Spenda C, taking the music from Trap to Tech was spot on. With everyone still buzzing off Baauer’s high energy set it was hard to spot a person who wasn’t smiling throughout the afternoon. By the time Eats Everything hit the stage the anticipation was met with crowd involvement. Stage invasions, applause on bassy tech drops and even a little bit of chanting to bring in the night.

With Chinese Laundry and Ivy teaming up to consistently bring out quality acts, it’s fair to say the crowd, venue and sound system are spot on in providing a unique experience that even blew Eat’s away!
