Duke Dumont turns his back on ‘established pop acts’

Duke Dumont has told FACT in a recent interview he has “turned my back on established pop acts” when producing for singers looking to instead “be a little more experimental” in his approach.

His inspiration? Mega indie labels like XL who 15 years ago took a chance with acts like Basement Jaxx and the more modern pop-star Adele both who have had resounding success in trying something different.

That same ethos will work for his own new imprint Blase Boys Club that will set out to “release music that is slightly against the grain” with the first EP being that of house shakers and movers Waze & Odyessy.

An interesting twist is Duke’s own nomadic approach having not signed any contracts for his own original works, rather knocking over a ton of remixes in the last twelve months, 25 to be exact!

This year he looks to continue his absolute destruction of originals following on from the stabby “The Giver” and the more recent anthem “Need U (100%)”

More Duke Dumont jams? Hell yeah!
