Dayam homie! Australian hip hop festival in straight up shambles

Niche and Live Nation’s Australian touring hip hop festival Supafest is in disarray after two major headline hip hop acts have been forced and not forced to straight talk gee and cancel that shit yo.

Problem with the world of hip hop and gangsta rap is court orders and studio time be getting in the way. Two of the main acts have had to pull out – Angel Haze (due to a clash in recording commitments – YOU CAN’T JUST INTERRUPT STUDIO TIME) and more recently 2 Chainz (due to visa issues resulting from a pending unresolved court case – fair call). Overwhelming feedback from all the straight up poppin ticket holders going to the event was that the posters line ups no longer reflected what they had been originally sold. WACK.

In a statement released from the two companies, they quoted “Live Nation and Niche launched Movement with the intention of providing a well-organised, fully funded, multi-artist hip-hop and urban music festival to overcome the disappointment that has occurred in the past due to event cancellations and talent withdrawals from similar events in recent years.

“Despite their best endeavours, the producers have been unable to fulfil their commitment and, as such, it has been determined that the festival will not go ahead.”

But it’s not all bad news for hip hop fans as they attempt to reignite the festival around 8 months later in around December. In the meantime fans will be refunded for their purchases.
