Bassnectar set to remix Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath

Long haired Dubstep dude Bassnectar has had his blessing been given by Black Sabbath to remix one of their songs.

The Californian based producer who recently remixed ‘Here Come the Bastards’ by Primus spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about his desire to remix Black Sabbath’s most popular hit ‘Iron Man’. He was unfortunately not granted this but was offered alternatively “carte blanche” or to work on whatever he wants from the upcoming Sabbath album, 13.

Historically speaking, the new Black Sabbath album is the first to include Ozzy Osbourne in more than 30 years, making the offer extra special for Bassnectar saying it is something his teenage self would not believe.

“The 14-year-old in me is just going nuts. It was Les Claypool texting me, going, ‘Hey, little fella, love the remix. Can I come on the road?’ And then I got Lars [Ulrich] asking to have me play the Metallica festival and I’m like, ‘This is so cool. I love this shit!”

Bassnectar has largely avoided the limelight of “EDM” America and quietly achieved millions of fans. He has most recently been busy on a prolific studio spree he describes as a “remix warpath.” Wonder who his next target will be?
