Ambitious popular music festival Splendour in the Grass has announced dates and its long planned permanent home for 2013.

After years of nomadic moves from it’s original standing of Belongil Fields in Byron Bay to Brisbanes Woodford HQ for a handful of years it’ll finally reside in it’s future home of North Byron Parklands.

The three day festival will run over Friday the 26th of July, Saturday the 27th of July and Sunday 28th July.

Although thought to be more of a folk, indie and rock festival, Splendour has slowly been ramping up its contingent of electronic and dance acts with the likes of DJ Shadow, James Blake, Does It Offend You Yeah, Seekae, Flume, Canyons, Alison Wonderland and Parachute Youth all helping stir up the mud!

Tickets have always been hot property although the new location will have “new areas to explore and lots of space for camping.” – woo!

Rumours have already started warming up with James Blake set for a Splendour return alongside Wavves, UK garage-pop duo AlunaGeorge, Alt-J, FIDLAR and Foals.
