Nicole Moudaber – Roar EP

Nicole Moudaber is hailed as the First Lady of Techno by none other than the King himself — her friend, labelmate, and fellow Space Ibiza commander, Carl Cox. “Roar” is her second release off of Intec Digital, due out January 28, swiftly following on the heels of her recent Drumcode EP “Sonic Langauge.”

With a big room sound that begets an uncontrollable head nod and lip pucker, the title track reverberates to the core with a powerful energy, heightened by wailing synths and vocals — hence the name, ROAR! As that spellbinding drum beat resurrects itself for the track’s climax, it’s impossible not to imagine this booming through your veins in the main room at Space.

In the second track “Brooklyn Hangover,” Moudaber maintains her momentum, channeling a more playful, funky melody in comparison to the hard-hitting drama of “Roar.” As a former party promoter in NYC, the title may be a coy reminder of her early days in that scene. New York is still a special place for her, and by February she’ll have started her own monthly parties at Cielo and Pacha NYC.

Check her out playing “Roar” at Elrow in Ibiza last summer:
