Jessie Boykins III & MeLo-X are behind what was possibly the most underrated and what could be my favourite record of the year!

‘Zulu Guru’ is a brilliant 14-track record laced together with intricate lyrical fortune and cosmic-RnB beats, each adding, flowing, ebbing and sweeping unto the next – at time’s its easy to forget this as music, more beautifully crafted spoken word.

Each owns their own complete space although the combination of the two across the full body of work seems like a step towards a darker shade, more falling, down-trodden FX versus the bubbling up-tempo dance stuff.

The two will be performing at this years Outsidein Festival in Sydney alongside fellow astral-travellers Shigeto, Africa Hi-Tech, Dro Carey, Smoke DZA and many many more (tickets).

Other dates include Melbourne (Nov 5th) and Perth (Nov 9th).
