Attempting to outdo the grin-your-face-off-and-jump-around-like-an-idiot soul of Rudimental’s ‘Not Giving In’ was always going to be a terrible plan, so Bondax did what they do best with this rerub.

The two spring chickens from Lancaster decided to strip the track back to its basics, slow it down to half time, and treat your ears to some impossibly pure bottom end that squeezes into your ears and just keeps going. It forces its way out of your nostrils, mouth, and any other orifice you can think of, kinda like an intense Play-Doh experiment gone wrong. More than that, everything is injected with an unhealthily large overdose of groove.

I particularly love the way they’ve twisted the wordless vocal line from the start of the original’s chorus. They allow it to float and swell under the piano stabs until it rises to the top and becomes a stunning melody and a perfect compliment to the aforementioned bass.

The Bondax boys are in fine form and if they keep doing what they’re doing, there are going to be a lot of happy listeners in this world.
