Claude VonStroke’s Favorite Tracks of All Time

Mixmag TV caught up with Dirtybird bossman Claude VonStroke to chat about his favorite tunes, asking which ones he’d bring with him if he were marooned on Mars for an eternity. Check out the interview to learn a bit about Barclay Crenshaw’s past straight from the bird’s beak, starting from his boyhood days playing the cello, through his college years as a wanna be rapper, his drum and bass awakening, and into his coming-of-age as the CVS we know and love. Listen to his top picks below and you’ll see where all those funky, hip hop, booty bass, percussive, influences have coalesced into that signature CVS/Dirtybird sound.

Prince – Darling Nikki

Eric B. & Rakim – Microphone Fiend

A Tribe Called Quest – Buggin’ Out

Rage Against the Machine – Killing In The Name Of

Ark – Sucubz (Mr. Oizo Remix)

Ed Rush & Optical – Alien Girl

This wasn’t part of the Marooned on Mars list, but it’s Claude’s all-time favorite dance track:

Cajmere – Percolator

And his own remix of Percolator which itself has become a classic…
