Thought you blew a bit of cash on the weekend? Try 300+ New Zealanders who flew to Fiji’s Sonaisali Island Resort for a 3-day party!

The group, totalling 304 exclusively rented the island and managed to spend a sizable F$500,000, which converts to a cool $275,600 Australian dollars ($281,000 USD).

Party organiser Richard Henry wanted to draw tourists to the normally sleeping island. “We wanted to come here and promote Fiji as a great place to visit and a place where we can come and relax and just have some great fun,” said Mr Henry, adding “We spent more than half a million Fijian dollars to charter an Air New Zealand Airbus and renting out the whole of Sonaisali Island for our three-day stay here,”.

“I targeted most of the high class people of New Zealand and young adults who were willing to spend their money on drinks, resorts and parties. I told them that Fiji was a great place for all of those things and they were willing to come here.”

The group bought their own DJs and partied until the early morning consecutively over the three days.
