French Fries – Space Alarm [Preview]

Dirtybird Records
continues to unleash the best and baddest in modern bass music, this time from Dj/producer prodigy French Fries with a new EP called Space Alarm. His real name is Valentino Cazani and he makes his home in France, but is apparently of Incan descent, hence the golden cover art.

He debuted his first release when he was only 16, and was crowned breakthrough artist at Winter Music Conference in 2010, the same year his fantastically funky track “" target="_blank">Senta” gained huge recognition.

Although French Fries has his own label called ClekClekBoomhe still stays true to his Dirtybird fam and releases on both imprints. Space Alarm will drop worldwide on November 11th, but you can get it on Dirtybird’s Drip FM site now.

The EP’s title track “Space Alarm” is infused with the eclectic soundscaping French Fries is famous for, with high-speed, crashing basslines and extraterrestrial whirrs. “Smoke Wine” maintains the first track’s energy as the deceptively mellow opening breaks into pulsating beats and sultry vocals, delivering the not-so-subliminal message: “werk-werk-werk-smoke-wine-smoke-wine.”

Justin Martin adds his Midas touch, remixing “Space & Smoke,” which begins with a playful keyboard melody and descends into one of his signature, exquisitely heavy, badass basslines. The final track is a remix of “Smoke Wine” by Belgian artist GoldFFinch, who shakes it up with a fidgety, funky rendition. If you aren’t downing a bottle of red while puffing on a joint after listening to this EP a few times, well…you’re a better person than me!

DB label Daddy Claude VonStroke lent a few words of praise for Space Alarm:

“When I play these at the right time they always solicit an audible ‘ooooh’ from the crowd at the drops. Both remixes are ace and the full release brings a very fresh sound to the label.”
