Deetron – Crave (Original Mix + Deetron cRAVE Dub)

We all have guilty pleasures, cravings we can’t deny that start as an itch and erupt as unstoppable desires. These tracks from Deetron, released on Music Man, embody that feeling, that pleasure-seeking, tingling urge for more.

The “cRAVE Dub” version is much darker, more ethereal and minimal with sparser vocals. Both renditions exhibit the polished production prowess of this Swiss born, Berlin based techno master. His sound percolates with Detriot vibes, and both “Crave” edits illustrate what he himself told RA were his key stylistic elements: “My love for melodic techno, my obsession with bass-influenced house and techno, my soft spot for disco and my craving for good vocals.”

Deetron (“real” name: Sam Geiser) came of age in a musical setting, with a jazz musician for his father. In his teens, hip-hop from artists like Gangstarr and A Tribe Called Quest led him to start Djing in 1992, and clearly he’s never looked back.
