5. Surtek Collective – Shari
A big forthcoming release on BoysNoize Records is from Surtek Collective. The first video and teaser of things to come is “Shari” a punch bowl mix of a TV dance proggy filted with rather fitting footage of a space craft heading for the orbits!
Simian cut some shapes in a seriously tripped out manner. A quick hat tip to 80’s visuals and DMT, hi-oh!
It was probably time for a music video for the track that broke Flume here in Australia. The new “Sleepless” actually features Jezzabell Doran versus the original Anthony for Cleopatra though. Boy search for girl, slo-mo, ocean, forests… nice way to round out the week.
You probably didn’t expect this, Radioheads Thom Yorke, producer Nigel Godrich and Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers side project Atoms for Peace. One word that comes to mind, textures. This is a brilliant composition of music and video, excited for more.
I’m probably a little biased towards Mock & Toof, definitely one of the catalysts of my fascination of electronic music. “My Head” is that minimal beat and the video is just as simple, layers and colours rolling and forming together. A perfect compliment to the track!
