Death From Above 1979 confirm new material pre-tour

Death From Above 1979 have confirmed they are working on new material in the studio pre touring through Canada in October.

It’s been a while between drinks for the duo who separated in 2006 following a previous six years together. More recently they reformed with a string of shows in 2011 at various UK festivals and the " target="_blank">riot they caused at a performance at SXSW.

One half of the band Sebastian Grainger wrote on their blog “Jesse and I have been writing new songs and the only way we feel like we can make them any good is to go out and play them for people. We’re going to throw our little muscle bound babies to the lions and see who survives. We tried just jumping into the studio, but the songs lacked spirit. They lacked life.”

Adding “So this tour is song CPR. There’s no way for us to do it anonymously anymore, so we’re inviting you to come along with us. Watch us do It. The way we used to. The way everyone used to. We’re a band, and bands just work it out together.”.

Other half of the band Jesse F Keeler is more known through dance and electronic circles as one half of electro-monsters MSTRKRFT and his own solo project JFK MSTRKRFT – who will be playing this years Stereosonic festival around Australia.

Let’s hope for some more Justice, Alan Braze & Fred Falke remixes!
